Moor Farm Shop Open Day

We are holding an open day on Easter Saturday 7th April 2012. There will be a hog roast, free refreshments, childrens activities, special promotions a fare organ and many more exciting events. If there is something you would like to see, suggestions are always welcome. The day will run alongside the normal opening hours of the shop so 10am to 6pm.

British Pie Week

The sausage suggestions were so great that we are going to run the same event but this time for PIES!! British Pie week is 5th March - 11th March so we are looking for as many suggestions for pie fillings as possible. The top 5 will be made and then you will get to choose your favourite. The person who suggests the winning flavour will win a Pie hamper!

Suggestions need to be in by 1st March

Valentines Day Promotions

If you are looking for a intimate and relaxing Valentines this year, why not treat your loved one to a delicious homemade meal, straight from the kitchen at Moor Farm Shop - whilst still enjoying the comfort of your own home.

Here at Moor Farm Shop we are offering everything you need to make a perfect Valentines. Quality Hereford beef rump steak, luxurious ice creams, chocolate coated honeycomb and a great selection of artisan cheese - just a few delights to tempt the taste buds. Promotions will be running in the shop from now until Valentine's Day.

Two indulgent menus have been developed by Moor Farm Shop Chef, Mark Russell-Jones; homemade chicken liver paté, sweet and sour pork with rice, white chocolate cheesecake and individual melting pot fudges - definitely too good to be shared! The menus are available to buy as complete meals, or individual items can be selected.

Sausage Competition

Thank you to everyone who came in to taste the flavours and vote on your favourite. It was a hard job but someone had to do it!

We will be continuing to make the Pork, Hoi Sin & Spring Onion Sausages. We will also throw in the other flavours from time to time.

British Sausage Week

To mark british sausage Week, 2nd - 8th November, we have been asking customers for new sausage flavours that they would like to try. After receiving 40 suggestions we put it to a staff vote for their favourites which resulted in 4 finalists; Pork & Worcester Sauce, Pork, Hoi Sin & Spring Onion, Chilli Beef & Cheddar and Pork, Harissa & Apricot. These will be out for you to taste and vote on your favourite in the shop on Friday 4th with the winner being announced that evening on here and Facebook.

Thank you for all the feedback, the remaining suggestions will be filed for future use.

The suggestor of the winning sausage flavour will receive a Moor Farm Shop Sausage Hamper.

We look forward to the tastings tomorrow and hope to see you there.

Festive Flavours at Moor Farm Shop

We are delighted to be hosting our first "Festive Flavours" events on Friday 4th & Friday 11th November. Throughout the two days a vast array of festive food will be available for tasting.

We have some mini mince pies handmade by Ed Potter from Church Stretton ready to be tasted.

The shop will be a seasonal display including hams and sausages. Add to this mini canapes - the perfect nibbles for Christmas drink parties, Christmas Cakes and puddings - just a few of the tempting treats.

Each day will have a selection of Christmas Fayre.

The team at Moor Farm Shop make many of the items themselves including meat pies, pork pies, sausage rolls, home-baked breads and home-cooked meals (fresh and frozen).The new kitchen will provide them with the capability to extend this range to include savoury and sweet flans and desserts and other ideas that are in development. The emphasis is always on local, regional and excellent quality so that customers have a choice of fabulous products including an organic range.

Moor Farm Meat: Hereford Beef, Gloucester Old Spot Pork

Moor Farm Shop began after the success of their Hereford Beef Meat Boxes. This emphasis on home-reared meat is still central to the Moor Farm Shop offering. The majority of the beef is from the Timmis' own award winning Hereford cattle and the pork is from their own Gloucester Old Spot pigs. When demands outstrips supply, Hereford beef is used from regional breeders that the family know so that they can assure their customers of the provenance and quality.

The range of Moor Farm Shop meats are hung, cured and cut by the on-site butcher, Dave Edgar. The creative recipes have been recognised in local awards. The Moor Farm Shop Shropshire Breakfast Sausage was the winner of the 2011 HEFF (Heart of England Fine Foods) Sizzle Off Award. Their speciality sausage, Smoked Bacon and Black Pudding, was also commended by HEFF.
