Marcus Bean from The New Inn has supported Moor Farm Shop since it first opened in 2006, by buying all of the meat that he can from them including; beef, pork, lamb, sausages and bacon. He also buys vegetables when they are in season and their farm fresh eggs.
He is showing his support by opening the new-build Moor Farm Shop on Saturday April 23rd. He will be demonstrating from 12pm – 2pm what can be created with some of the more unusual cuts from the animals. These delicious dishes will be freshly prepared for customers to taste on the day and the recipes will be available so that you can try them at home.

Winner of Iron Chef UK 2010
Alongside running The New Inn in Baschurch for six years, Marcus has become involved in other activities as a Chef. In 2010 Marcus took part in the Channel 4 series Iron Chef and won, to become Iron Chef UK. He went head-to-head against Michelin starred Chefs on daily challenges and at the end of the week he won the final ‘cook-off’ against Martin Blunos. He is preparing the cheese course for an event in London on April 4th where a group of Michelin Chefs, AA Rosette winners and TV chefs will be creating a pop-up restaurant for the evening. This restaurant, KaiWeCare, will be raising money for the City of Christchurch following the recent earthquake in New Zealand. He also teaches a course called 'Meat Glorious Meat' at the Brompton Cookery
School in Atcham, showing people what can be done with really top quality meat.

Marcus explained why he supports Moor Farm Shop; “The meat, eggs and vegetables are not just local but they are excellent. The Timmis family are farmers who really understand their produce. The topside of Moor Farm Hereford Beef used for our Sunday Roasts hardly needs cooking! I am pleased to see the new shop opening and hope that more people will now enjoy the fantastic meat and other produce, as our customers do at The New Inn at Baschurch."
