Moor Farm Shop has a small and friendly staff always ready to help you make up your mind! The shop is Melissa's brainchild and was started to bring in another income to enable the girls to persue a career in the family business. Mike and Hazel run the shop with the help of their two daughters Melissa and Elaine, and also Harper student, Cheryl. Mike keeps the vegetable growing under control together with the production of straw and hay bales, rolled oats and small bags of hay and straw for pets. He is our mechanic and there is nothing he cannot mend! He is also chief taster and critic of any new products; a job from which he never takes a day off!

Hazel thinks she is in charge (but then so does everybody else). She and Melissa alternate between the shop and the management of the livestock on the farm. At harvest time Melissa becomes chief tractor driver and Hazel becomes grain store manager, whilst Mike drives the combine harvester. Hazel has her intermediate food hygiene certificate and Melissa and Elaine have their foundation certificates. Hazel and Melissa have passed meat and butchery courses.

Elaine keeps the office in order, which is no mean feat with all the current legislation for both shop and farm; she also fills in the shop, with the livestock and on the tractor when required. She also has done a first aid course.

Cheryl is working with us part time at the moment but on completion of her degree course at Harper Adams she will be joining the staff full time - thank goodness. She hopes to start up a free range chicken production when she is here more permanently.

The staff are constantly trying out new recipes for sausage, burgers, stuffed joints of meat and ready meals to add to our already comprehensive range of products. Some recent additions are brisket rolled and stuffed with carrot, swede, parsnip and horseradish, & lamb shoulder stuffed with apricots.
